WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP FINAL STANDINGS - 1930 to 1969

 * In the early years, many World, European and Olympics games tournaments
were all played as one. Some Olympic tournaments were counted as World
tournaments, as well as European champions were decided by the best
European team in World Championship play.
Below are rankings for World Championships only, with Olympic games
standings and all-time totals counted as separate.
   Please see 'Olympics' for totals.

 * Teams are listed by final ranking. W-L-T-PTS are calculated from all games
played including preliminary, medal and consolation rounds. Often teams
with superior W-L-T marks finish with inferior rankings due to early
tournament losses that seed them in a lower bracket.

-Last time games were played in open air. A swimming pool in
Lausanne with powerful freezing plants turned the water to ice.
Diving platforms rose above the playing surface. Players had
to wear sunglasses to protect from the sun's glare off the ice.
Indoor rink in Geneva also unusual, as it had transparent plastic boards.

* -Pool's B and C now played as seperate tournaments, no longer played
in conjuction with Pool A. Too many teams featuring too many players
with not enough accomodations and training facilities the reason.

-Pool A played as double round robin.
